'De Kroningsplechtigheid'.

Wies Peleman studied at the Royal Academy of Mechelen. He was a well-known Flemish cartoonist, who published in De Standaard, Vooruit, De Post and Ons Volk. He released the cartoon book 'Zonder Woorden' (Editions Bogard, 1965). In the 1960s, he regularly made illustrations for the Standaard supplement Pats. He also contributed cartoons and gag pages to the magazine. Most of these gag pages were independent stories, but Peleman also drew comics like 'Meneer Kommix & Strip', 'Pim en Pom in de Zoo', 'Prietpraat Ballon' and 'Adam aan Zee'. In later years, Peleman focused on ceramics. He additionally designed the covers of the albums 'Cha Cha Treat' (1958) by Francis Bay & His Orchestra, 'A Buck Clayton Jam Session' (1959) by Buck Clayton and 'Concordia Tisselt' (1976) by Concordia Tisselt. He died in 1995.
