Paperino by Enrico Mauro Pinochi

Born in Mozzano, Enrico Mauro Pinochi studied arts in Rome. He did his first contributions to magazines like Corriere dei Piccoli and La Lettura in the 1920s. In the 1930s, his main focus was fashion and advertising art, as well as illustrations for books and magazines. He became comics art director of the publishing house Mondadori in 1938.

He drew a couple of the first official Italian Disney comics with texts by Federico Pedrocchi, including 'Pippo Viaggiatore di Commercio', 'Clarabella tra gli Artigli del Diavolo Nero' and three stories with 'Paperino' ('Donald Duck'). Pinochi emigrated to Argentina in the early 1940s, where he worked as a book illustrator for Editorial Abril until his death in Buenos Aires in 1965.
