Egon Reitzl was an artist of Austrian origins who worked for Hannes Hegen's Mosaik comics from 1958 to 1989. His main occupation was drawing the backgrounds, which he did with historical authentication. The cartouche he designed for the magazine's page 2 became a trademark for Mosaik. Egon Reitzl retired in 1989, and was succeeded by Steffen Jähde.
