Waputa, by Herbert Reschke 1954

Herbert Reschke was born in Berlin in 1914. He lived in the eastern part of the city, which was occupied by Russia after World War II. Reschke became a comic artist, contributing to magazines such as Wochenpost, Frösi and Das Magazin. Some of his titles are 'Waputa die Geierkralle' (1954), 'Ali Ben Populi' (1955) and 'Hodscha Nasreddin'. All of his comics held political propaganda for the new democracy, but were nonetheless easily readable and entertaining.
