Matteo Resinanti studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Brera. He began his career with publishing in a fanzine, while also illustrating covers for a computer magazine. He illustrated several adult comics at Ediperiodici, before he joined Stratelibri in 1992. There, he illustrated 'Escalibur', as well as several roleplaying games. In addition, he cooperated with the software company Milestone to work on the digital animation of the videogame Iron Assault. He continued to work for the fanzine, while also appearing in Fumo di China. He eventually joined Bonelli, where he illustrated episodes of 'Legs Weaver' and 'Nathan Never'.
