Marco Rostagno was an Italian painter and illustrator. Born in Turin, he later moved to France. In the mid-1960s, he drew the comic strip 'Sélène', an erotic science fiction series strongly inspired by Jean-Claude Forest's 'Barbarella'. He signed the strip Paul Savant, and the scripts were by Victor Newman and later Dadus (Corrado Farina, Pietro Palma, among others).

Rostagno then worked with Pier Carpi on the satirical 'Beatrice' in Horror magazine. With Enzo Biagi, he produced 'Storia della Chiesa'. Rostagno then focused on a career in illustration. He returned to comics when he began a collaboration with Il Giornalino. From 1995 to 1998, Rostagno made a comic adaptation of the Bible ('Bibbia a Fumetti') for this magazine, as well as 'Reporter Blues' and '72 ore'. Marco Rostagno died in Juan Les Pins, France on the 5th of May 2004.
