Born in Maastricht, The Netherlands, Marcel Rouffa has mainly worked for the Flemish market. He studied arts in Antwerp, and made his debut in the Robbedoes Album + specials with 'Derek Palmers' and 'Ludoviek' in the early 1980s. He subsequently joined Willy Vandersteen's 'Bessy' studios in Antwerp. Afterwards, he worked as a scriptwriter for Erika Raven (the award-winning 'Thomas Rindt'), Marvano (the Sulitzer adaptation 'Rourke' at Dupuis) and Jeff Broeckx ('Dag en Heidi').
For the Suske en Wiske holiday specials, he illustrated 'De Familie Klipper' from scripts by Marc Legendre. He created the science fiction series 'Twinstar' for Suske en Wiske Weekblad in the late 1990s, and produced several stories about World War I, including the comics 'Schimmen' and 'Massascène'. With Marvano, he made the illustrated book 'Ver Van Ieper', about the fights around the town Ypres during World War I.
In 2011 he paid graphic homage to Pom in the collective tribute album 'Op Het Spoor van Pom' (2011).
