Jérôme Ruillier was born in Madagascar, but studied Decorative Arts in Strasbourg. He now lives in Voiron, in the Isère department of France, where he divides his time between his two passions: drawing and the mountain. He has written and illustrated several instructive children's books. He made his debut as a comic author with 'Le Coeur-enclume' at Éditions Sarbacane in 2008. It was followed in 2011 by 'Les Mohamed', in which Ruillier chronicles true-to-life stories of immigrants.
