'Ezra'. 

Harry F. Sahle drew gag cartoons for Boy's Life in the late 1930s. During the 1940s, he was a comic book artist for the Chesler Studio and Funnies Inc. He created several features for Archie Publications, such as 'Applejack', 'Archie', 'The Black Hood', 'Red Rube' and 'Steel Sterling'. He drew back-ups for Hillman (in Air Fighters and Airboy), fillers for Centaur and Ziff-Davis, and a couple of features for Marvel, including 'Black Widow', 'Human Torch', 'Blonde Phantom' and 'Silver Scorpion'.

For Quality, Sahles created the features 'Candy' and 'Ezra' from the mid-1940s until his death in the mid-1950s. Sahle was also the creator of the 'Candy' newspaper strip for the Chicago Times (1944-1945). This strip was later continued by Tom Dorr.
