Luis Sayán Puente became the assistant of comic artist José Estremadoyro. He illustrated the biographies of Túpac Amaru, Ladislao Espinar, Héctor Chumpitaz, and Hugo Sotil in Informe Ilustrado in the 1970s. He also contributed to La Prensa and Correo. In 1974, he created the crime comic 'G-8' in the section Magazine of La Crónica, followed by 'Uchuraccay' in La Crónica in 1975.
