Yasmin Sheikh is an illustrator and concept artist from the Netherlands. Originally from Amsterdam, she studied at the Pictoplasma Academy in Berlin, where she became a member of The Eggplant Collective, an international group of visual artists with a shared love of design. Now based in Breda, Sheikh has made illustrations for such clients as Hitkrant magazine, the publishing house Zwijsen, the newspaper NRC and Playstation magazine.
She made her comic book debut with 'Luna the Vampire', a tale about the daily struggles of a grumpy space vampire in a monster-populated cosmos. She started a Kickstarter campaign for the creation of the book in 2015, and rewards for contributors varied from signed books and original artwork, to a monsterized caricature and a role in the comic. The first issue was published by IDW in the United States in January 2016.
