Louis Small Jr. was the original 'Vampirella' artist for the comic book series published by Harris from 1992. Over the years, he has also worked irregularly with the character, including the 'Holy War' saga and the 'Hell on Earth' storyline. Small also illustrated comic books like 'Supergirl' (DC), 'Michael Alexander', 'Dark Dominion' (Defiant), 'Codename: Knockout' (Vertigo) and 'Ka-Zar' (Marvel). He is also an illustrator for the DC Universe card series.
After struggling with cancer for years, Small died on 18 November 2025 of a stroke.
