Paul Smith came to the comics profession from animation. The influence of his animation period is still visible in his work through its simple, elegant figure work and clear layouts. Although he was only on the 'X-Men' comic for about a year, he is one of the favorite artists among fans. From 1996, Smith works with James Robinson on the 'Leave it to Chance' comic under DC Wildstorm's Homage Comics imprint. Other titles he worked on are 'Nexus', 'Dr Strange' and 'The Iron Man'.
