Fuyumi Soryo (or Souryou) debuted in 1982 with 'Hidamari no Houmonsha' in Bessatsu Shoujo Comic. She was Fuyumi Ogura's assistant for a couple of years. In 1985, she drew her first longer manga, 'Boyfriend'. Among her best known serials is 'Mars', about the romance between two high school students, that was serialized in Bessatsu Friend from 1996 to 2000. This manga has also been adapted into a Taiwanese drama.
Soryo also created 'ES' ('Eternal Sabbath'), about a group of scientists in search of immortality. This manga appeared in Morning in 2002 and was her first in the seinen genre. In 2005, she began 'Cesare', also for Morning.
