Jan-Willem Spakman is a Dutch comic artist, also known under the pen name Wimpie. He was born in 1992 in Amersfoort and moved to Groningen when he was 10 years old. Between 2010 and 2014, he studied Comic Design at the ArtEZ Academy in Zwolle and since 2011 released his own short 'Wimpie Comics' since 2011. His gags mostly mostly deal with humor and absurdism in everyday life. Recurring themes are pop culture, current affairs, politics, social issues and mere nonsense. His work has appeared in such publications as Zone 5300, De Kampioen, Knocky Magazine, ZINGmagazine, OOGST, Blauwvinger Courant, the Groninger Studentenkrant and Quest Junior.
