'Motley's Crew'.

Ben Templeton was an advertising art director and designer, before he became a cartoonist in 1976. He teamed up with Tom Forman and created 'Motley's Crew', a newspaper strip full of satirical social commentary, launched on 6 September 1976. The strip, about a blue-collar worker called Mike Motley and his wife Mabel, was published in about 240 newspaper in the United States. They cooperated until Forman's death in 1996. Templeton then continued the strip on his own until its cancellation on 1 January 2000.

In 1978, Templeton and Forman also created the satirical strip 'The Sporting Life'. Other creations by the team include 'Elwood', (1983-1990) and 'Prime Time'. Since 2000, Templeton has been in semi-retirement.
