Ljudi za zvezde
Rade Tovladijac is a serbian comic book artist, illustrator and painter, specialized in the fantasy genre. He was born in Ulcinj in Montenegro, then a part of Yugoslavia, but has lived and worked in Belgrade since 1981. He obtained his degree at the Faculty of Architecture in Belgrade and debuted in the Yugoslav comics industry with the comic story 'Šeloba' in the youth magazine ITD in 1983.
His next comic, the science-fiction story 'Ljudi za zvezde' written by Aleksandar Timotijević, was published in YU Strip in 1984-1985. Tovladijac was a member of the Bauhaus 7 comic art group and gained fame through the covers he painted for publications like Tajne, Gigant and Horor, starring famous characters like The Phantom, Modesty Blaise, James Bond and Batman. He is also known for 'Smešna strana srpske stvarnosti', a satirical Saturday page in Press daily from Belgrade, written by Mihailo Medenica.
