Chrischa Van de Voorde is a Belgian illustrator, and the lead artist of Happy Monsters in Gentbrugge since 2002. She studied Fine Arts and Advertising at the Sint-Lucas School of Arts in Ghent, and then got her master in Audiovisual Arts from the animation department of the KASK School. Between 1998 and 2003, she made illustrations for the graphics studio Greendots. In 2000, she and her twin sister Vanessa established the face paint team De Spinnekoppen, which from 2002 on became a part of the creative studio The Happy Monsters. Van de Voorde also gives workshops in facepainting.
In 2006, Van de Voorde was briefly active as an illustrator for the advertising bureau Wax Interactive. For the London publishing company Regency Publishers, she livened up the pages of various children's books, including 'I Am 4', 'I Am 5' and 'Princess Samantha'. Since April 2004, she is a self-employed artist.
Besides making designs and illustrations for websites, children's books and mascots, Van de Voorde occasionally works on comic stories, of which one was published in the Flemish comic magazine P@per in 2013.
