Comic adaptation by Manuel Veroni of Leo Tolsoy's short story 'Polikushka'.

Manuel Veroni was an Argentinian artist of realistic comic stories in the 1940s and 1950s. He made his debut in the pages of Fenómeno magazine in 1941 with the series about 'Jimmy y Ralph', two British secret agents in India. This feature was followed by 'El Robinson Suizo', based on the 1812 novel 'The Swiss Family Robinson' by Johann David Wyss. Fenómeno had a short life due to the scarcity of paper, so Veroni's activities continued in other magazines, such as Intervalo ('El Ahorcado', 1945), Aventuras, Suspenso (with several comic adaptations from 1949) and Sucesos ('Inocentes y Condenados', 1950). In 1950 he also made the illustrations for Patricia Polvora, a newsletter published by La Revista de Robin.

During the 1950s, he made the western comic 'Will Bill Hickok' (sic) in Aventuras del Oeste, and the serial 'Dubrovsky el Bandido' (1958) in Pimpinela. By the early 1960s he was present in Intervalo Extra. He also made illustrations for books with the character 'Bomba' in the Colección Robin Hood of Acme Agency.
