After completing a Graphics course, Robert Wakelin joined a Liverpool studio which specialized in artwork for the entertainment industry. During this period, Wakelin did a lot of commissions for rock bands, producing artwork for album covers. He became a freelancer in 1978, doing comic work for Marvel, among others for Epic Illustrated. He is best known as the cover illustrator for Ocean Software.
Bob Wakelin passed away in 2018, from a rare type of bone marrow disease, known as aplastic anaemia.
