Alice in Winterland by Kevin James Ward

Kevin Ward is a Canadian artist who studied literature and creative writing before moving to London in 2001. He began drawing more seriously while working in a comic shop Gosh! and has contributed stories, drawings or comics to small magazines over the years, including London's Comix Reader newspaper.

All Smiles by Kevin Ward

Kevin's first attempt at a comic was 'Suzie the Spacegirl', a children's story that he abandoned after one issue. The next was 'Earl, The Snapshot King' in 2003, about a village idiot-turned-gangster, serialised in Nice Comics, a short-lived mini-comic anthology created by shop staff. After working other odd jobs, he did a media theory degree at Goldsmiths College, where he made 'The Rubbish Composer', a stop-motion animation that was screened at various film festivals.

In 2008 he started publishing handmade books with fellow comics artist Hurk as 'The Fancy Butcher', including a collaborative comics magazine The Static Revolter in 2010, that featured Kevin's first long comic story 'All Smiles'. When he isn't working on his own stories or illustration commissions, Kevin teaches digital design software to fine art students.
