Zachary Weinersmith started drawing comics during his high school years. He has been active as a webcomic author since 2000. He is best known as the author of 'Saturday Morning Breakfast Cereal', launched in 2002. The strip is a mix of multi-panel and one panel cartoons, and has no recurring characters. Weiner has received several awards and nominations for his daily comic, that runs on sites like GoComics.com.
He is also the (co-)writer of the webcomics 'Captain Excelsior' and 'Snowflakes', drawn by Chris Jones. He also founded the sketch comedy group SMBC Theater with James Ashby and Marty Weiner in 2009, and co-hosted a science podcast from 2011 to 2013.
