Tage Andersen was the artist of a new series of the 'Willy på Eventyr' comic in Familie-Journalen, together with writer Aage Grauballe. The strip was based on the British comic 'Rob the Rover', created by Walter Booth, that was continued in Scandinavia by Harry Nielsen from 1941 to 1947. Andersen and Grauballe transformed the traditional adventure comic into a Flash Gordon-like science fiction serial. It ran until 1977.
Andersen was furthermore an illustrator of short stories and novels for Allers Familien-Record. He was a recognised artist with a specialty in drawing mushrooms in specialized books.
