Juan Arancio was born in Santa Fe, Argentina. He collaborated on several magazines in the 1950s, including Corso Pete, Poncho Negro, Puño de Hierro, Vida Escolar, Frontera, Intervalo and El Tony. Among his stories were 'Santos Bravo', 'Patria Vija' and 'El Martin Fierro'. In the 1960s he illustrated the work of writers like Salgari, Jules Verne and Stevenson for Editorial García Ferré. For Clarín, he created 'El Chumbiao' and 'El Capitán Ontiveros' between 1967 and 1973, and for the Santa Fe daily El Litoral he created he comic 'Juan Chiviro'. Arancio has additionally worked for publishers in the USA (Walt Disney Studios), UK (Fleetway), Australia, Canada and Italy (Scorpio). In Italy he has drawn series like 'Timber Lee', written by Mino Milani. As a painter, he has had expositions in Spain, Germany, Sicily, Canada and the USA.
