He published his first comic pages in Sauve Qui Peut between 1991 and 1993, and has subsequently contributed to Psikopat, Le Cheval sans Tête, P.L.G. and Jade. He was the publisher, author and editor of the fanzines Toujours Content (1994-1996), Rien (1998) and Moins que Rien (1998). He has appeared in numerous anthologies, including Comix 2000 (L'Association, 1999) and several volumes of Bile Noire (Atrabile), and has released a great many black-and-white mini-comics and graphic novels through indie labels like Mosquito, B.ü.L.b comix, La Cafatière, L'Association and especially Atrabile since 1997.

These books explore several of the traditional genres in an experimental way, including western ('Goudron Plumé', Delcourt 1997), space opera ('Cosmique Tralala', La Cafetière 2001), fantasy ('Frankenstein encore et toujours', Atrabile 2001) and super-heroes ('Super', Atrabile 2002). Since 2005, he tells the existentialist and autofictional stories about the loner Benny, who first popped up in 'Angle Mort' (Atrabile, 2005) and then in several other books in Atrabile's Collection Lymphe. In addition to his comics, Baladi's paintings have been exhibited widely throughout Europe.
