Les Lions de Maczek by Jeff Baud
Les Lions de Maczek

Jeff Baud is a self-taught artist, who has mainly worked in animation, but also drew comics. He worked for Studio Gaumont on the animated film 'Asterix and the Big Fight' ('Astérix et le Coup du Menhir', 1989), based on the creations of Albert Uderzo and René Goscinny. He was subsequently an animator for the 1989 animated TV series 'Babar', about the famous elephant by Jean De Brunhoff. He eventually became a staff artist for Disney France, where he was mainly active making "fixed drawings" (sets, characters, costumes). In his spare time, he developed his own Tolkien-inspired comics project. This resulted in the children's series 'Les Aventures de Domenico', of which two books were published by Tartamudo in 2006 and 2008.

He was also one of the artists of the third book in the series 'Renart' by Clair de Lune in 2009, and he appeared in the anthology 'Anecdotes - Ni bête ni têtu' (Eure du Terroir, 2011). Baud also contributed to several collective books with Celtic legends for Association l'Eure du Terroir and Éditions Varou. With writer Philippe Zytka and colorist Fabien Rypert, he made 'Les Lions de Maczek', a comic book about the 1st Armoured Division of Poland during World War II (Katzenplus Editions, 2014). He has furthermore worked for Edition textile d'Art and as a 3D designer for Axovia.com.
