Charlie Boatner has written stories for DC Comics ('Brave & Bold' #187, 1982), Marvel ('Marvel Fanfare' #4) and Vertigo/DC ('Flinch' #16, 2002), among others. In 1990, he created the graphic novel 'The Hiding Place' with Steve Parkhouse. In the 2000s, he answered children's letters to the Cartoon Network characters as "Johnny DC". Charlie began by publishing college comics zines like All Slug Comics with Mark Clegg at U.C. Santa Cruz. He also draws a web comic called 'Bureau of Beasties'.
