Boy Akkerman has a daytime job in the advertising industry, and works as a comic artist on the side. He has worked on Dutch comic book series like 'Captain Roffa' (with Johan de Neef at Windmill Comics, since 2012) and 'Robinson Mesj' (through Mesj Media Comics). He has since then also worked with several US publishing labels. He has drawn for Grayhaven's 'The Gathering' and, most notably, 'Captain Ultimate' for Monkeybrain Comics. He has also contributed a story to the NorthWest Press publication 'Prise', featuring comic stories against bullying.
With Adri van Kooten, Age Morris, Erwin Suvaal, Jules Calis, Ulrik Art and West Givner, he forms "De Rotterdamse 7" ("The Rotterdam 7"), a group of Rotterdam-based artists who publish the quarterly comic magazine Hollandsch Metaal since October 2016.
