Paolo Campinoti was born in Livorno, and studied at the Liceo Artistico and the Accademia di Belle Arti in Firenze. During his civil service, he illustrated promotional material. He began to work as a professional comic artist in 1993. He cooperated with a Rome located advertising agency and cooperated on Battista il Collezionista with Moreno Burattini. He moved to Milan in 1996, and joined the Disney Academy.
Campinoti cooperates on the Italian Disney production since 1997, drawing stories and illustrating merchandise. He has done stories for Disney magazine Topolino, as well as Minni Mag, where he created 'Mai Dire Quack' and 'Il Diario di Paperina'. He also cooperated on such series as 'W.I.T.C.H.' and 'Monster Allergy'. In 2002, he became the illustrator of 'Geronimo Stilton' at Edizioni Piemme.
He should not be confused with Italian footballer Paolo Campinoti (1990).
