Zagor

Born in Trieste, Franco Devescovi worked in advertising and animation, before he began his association with the publishing house Universo in Milan in 1968. There, he illustrated a great number of 'Cristall' stories. In 1973 and 1974, he was present in Corriere dei Ragazzi, doing art on stories scripted by Andrea Mantelli, Mino Milani and Alfred Castelli. In 1975, back at Universo, he drew 'Qui Commissario Norton', with scripts by Angelo Saccarello. He also worked on 'Billy Bis' with scriptwriter Antonino Mancuso. In 1976, he commenced working on 'Black Rider', a series created by Freghieri. After an appearance in Il Monello in 1983, he left the comics field and focused on painting and advertising art. He later returned to comics, drawing episodes of 'Martin Mystère', 'Mister No' and 'Zagor' for the publishing house Bonelli.
