Pieter Dorst is a Dutch digital media designer and concept developer, with a previous career in cartoons and illustration. During the second half of the 1990s, he was co-editor of the amateur comic magazine Bikkel, and the first artist to draw the gag strip 'Puck' (1999) in girls' magazine Tina. Since then, he has worked as web designer, online marketeer and IT professor, and is also active as producer and presenter of radio broadcasts and podcasts.
Cartoonist
Originally from Nunspeet, Pieter Dorst was one of the initiators of the amateur comic magazine Bikkel, which he edited together with Janko Bosch. Between 1995 and 1997, ten issues were published, for which Dorst created comics with the title hero. Among the other contributors to Bikkel were Dennis Spaans, Alex Turk and Roy Spraakman. In early 1999, Pieter Dorst briefly returned to cartooning, when he drew the first eleven episodes of the new gag strip 'Puck', in girls magazine Tina. Written by Frank Jonker, the feature was later drawn by Paul Hoogma (1999-2002) and Peter FitzVerploegh (2002-2005).

Further career
Since 1997, Pieter Dorst has been working as a professional in the field of IT. Initially a website designer, he expanded his activities after studying Art Direction for print and multimedia at the Grafisch Lyceum Utrecht in 2000 and 2001. He has since then specialized in digital media and design and content development, and was owner and Creative Director of the web design agency Internet Communicators between 2007 and 2010. Since 2010, Dorst has been working on interactive concepts, motion design, 2D and 3D animations and online marketing through his own firm, Studio IC. Among his clients have been LG, Miele Nederland, Seat Nederland, musician Ilse de Lange, the luxury fashion companies house Viktor & Rolf and Ralph Lauren, the film assessment tool Kijkwijzer and the Vitesse soccer club. Starting in 2015, he is also a teacher at the IT & Media faculty of the Fontys University of Applied Sciences in Tilburg.
Forming the duo "Horst & Dorst" with Manja van der Horst, Pieter Dorst is additionally a producer and presenter of podcasts and pop/rock radio programs, working for the local Waalwijk broadcast Langstraat Media.
