Myron Moose, by Bob Foster

Bob Foster grew up in the suburbs of New York and moved to California in 1961 to attend Chouinard Art School in Los Angeles. In 1970 he created Myron Moose Funnies and from 1973 until 1975 wrote and illustrated The History of Moosekind for Marvel's CRAZY magazine. Throughout the 1970s he was an assistant animator and animation layout artist for such studios as Filmation, Hanna-Barbera, DePatie-Freleng, and Marvel.

In the 1980s he was a staff writer/artist for Disney Publishing where, among other duties, he wrote the Donald Duck comic strip (art by Frank Smith, Daan Jippes, Jim Franzen, Jorgen Klubien, Tony Strobl, etc) as well as scripts for the foreign market comic book stories. From 1980 until 1985 he was simultaneously the animation layout supervisor for XAM! Productions in Salt Lake City, Utah.

When Disney took the license from Gladstone and published the comics themselves, he held  the position of Managing Editor for the entire line of titles. He was also editor of Walt Disney's Comics and Stories, Uncle Scrooge Adventures, Donald Duck Adventures and DuckTales from 1990 until 1992, for which he also did rough sketches for all the cover gags.

In March 1992 he moved to Denmark to be a script editor for Egmont. In 1993, he organized a comic book storytelling course in Dublin, with Will Eisner, Ulrich Schroeder, Pat McGreal and Dave Rawson participating. While in Copenhagen he initiated the Carl Barks tour of Europe and created the initial itinerary for the tour which began in May 1994. 

One month prior, in April 1994, he returned to Los Angeles and has since been a storyboard artist for Warner Bros., Nickelodeon, Fox, Wild Brain, Scholastic, Dreamworks, Laika, Sony and Disney (current). He has worked with Disney Television Animation as a storyboard artist on 'Mickey Mouse Clubhouse', 'My Friends Tigger and Pooh' and 'Jake and the Never Land Pirates'.

He was the treasurer of CAPS, the Comic Art Professional Society, and is President of The Animation Guild, which represents 3,000 artists and writers in the animation business primarily in the greater Los Angeles, area from December 2010 until December 2013.
