Bitka kod Siska

Dušan Gačić is a Croatian animator, illustrator and comic artist. He graduated from the department of Eduction of the Zagreb Academy of Fine Arts. His work has been published in numerous magazines and books since the 1980s. He made his first comic stories while in the army, most notably the first installments of his comics diary ('Dnevnik'). Other early works are 'Metak', the sports story 'Meč' and the science fiction tale 'Kontrolna stanica 13'.

His experimental and often innovating comics appeared in magazines like YU Strip and Strip and the newspapers Vjesnik and Večernji list. By the 1990s he was publishing stories like 'Grad u mraku' in Patak, and the football comic 'Polušpica' in Sprint. He also worked with Darko Macan and Radovan Devlić on the award-winning 'Strossmayer' biography in 1993. Gacic then released the historical comic 'Bitka kod Siska'. He also ventured into small press self-publishing, launching his fanzine Flit in 1997.

He has made three animated films, 'Cvrčak', 'Prozor na grad' and 'Složeni predosjećaj'. He is co-founder of the multimedia artist group Wild Eye with Ivana Armanini and still acts as editor-in-chief of the e-zine Flit. His art has also been presented at several solo and group exhibitions. Gačić is furthermore the author of a great numer of critical and theoretical articles on comics.
