Gnot Guedin works mostly in association with his brother Dav under the joint pen name "Les Frères Guedin". Originally from Normandy, the brothers both studied at the High School of Art in Cambrai, after which Gnot enrolled at the School of Decorative Arts in Strasbourg. Gnot and Dav Guedin have been building on their collective oeuvre since 2004, when their first book 'Les Frères Couillus' was published by Le Dernier Cri. Several other comic books followed, filled with weird art and eccentric humor, as well as three retrospectives, published by Éditions Charrette. Among their other notable works are 'Mémoires de Bâtards' (Le Dernier Cri, 2008 and 2011) and 'Des Aventures pour les Vrais Bonhommes' (AAARGH!, 2015).
The brothers also make silkscreens, music videos and doll designs, often in cooperation with the artist Craoman. Alone, Gnot Guedin draws the comic 'Le Petit Terroriste', and he makes animated shorts about a worm-like creature that lives in the remains of slaughterhouses. Guedin claims to be influenced by the artists working for the magazine Fluide Glacial in the 1980s, as well as "nasty Japanese comics". Gnot Guedin is currently (2016) based in Nantes.
Gnot Guedin has also been active as an album cover designer. He livened up the cover of 'Bughouse' (2018) by Benjamin Herman and co-designed the sleeve of the compilation album 'Bargraftzine' (2011), featuring music by Daniel Burros, Stadtfischflex and Toys 'R' Noise. Guedin additionally designed the sleeve of a French-language DVD release of the documentary 'Frank Zappa - Eat That Question. Frank Zappa In His Own Words' (2017), released by the label Blaq Out.
