Rick Hoover was an American cartoonist and animator, who has worked worked for the Disney Studios, Hanna-Barbera and Filmation Associates. He was assistant art director at Western Publishing, the US publisher of Disney comics, in the early 1980s and later publicity artist for the Disney Studios. In alternation with Earl Norem he drew the daily newspaper strip of the 'Gummi Bears' from 1986 to 1989, and he took over the daily and Sunday strips of 'Mickey Mouse' from Roman Arambula from 1989 to 1993. Hoover drew covers for Marvel's Disney publications such as Disney Comic Hits and Aladdin. He also contributed to Goofy Adventures and Talespin.
