comic art by Nestor Infante

A Fine Arts graduate, Nestor Infante took up a course in comics illustrations at the Nestor P. Redondo studio. Infante's first stint as a professional artist was with the East Asian Parish Institute where he illustrated scenes from the Bible. In 1974 he stepped into the comics world via Mars Ravelo's RAR Publishing house where he illustrated Ravelo's 'Sisid' and 'Dyesebel'. Outside of RAR, Infante teamed up with R.R. Marcelino for the adventure fantasy novel 'Tiny Tom', which was published in the Philipino Funny Komiks. Infante's style was greatly influenced by the works of Nestor Redondo. He was also a big admirer of Howard Pyle, Frank Frazetta, Alex Toth, and Alex NiƱo.
