Balade au Bout du Monde
Laval NG Man Kwong (or Keong) is a comic artist from Mauritius. He worked for the animation company Jadoma Films Ltd between 1992 and 1994 and subsequently got his Bachelor of Art in the United States from 1994 until 1997. Back on the isle of Mauritius, he became a freelance graphic artist. He contributed two stories to Caliber Comics in the US, and was a caricaturist and press illustrator for L'Hebdo de Maurice. He made comic pages for some local papers, and was a regular artist with the magazine Autopsie, the intercultural magazine Traces and the Maurician fanzine Ticomix.
After meeting Makyo at a comic festival on the isle of La Reunion in 2002, he was asked to draw the fourth cycle of the series 'Balade au Bout du Monde' for Glénat. The first three cycles of this series were drawn by Laurent Vicomte, Éric Hérenguel and Michel Faure, and Laval drew four books between 2003 and 2008. Laval and Makyo also made a book about the Lebanese artist, poet, and writer Khalil Gibran for the series 'Cadmos' of the publishing house Adonis in 2008, as well as 'Cercles de mystère' for Delcourt in 2012.
Laval additionally participated in the collective album 'Chroniques de Sillage' part 3 in 2006. In 2007, Laval and his work where the subject of an exposition called 'Mythes, contes et Légendes: L'Univers de Laval Ng', at the French Cultural Centre of Tananarive.
