Denis Mérézette made his debut in 1981 with 'Le Berger', an album scripted by Sédille and published on the occasion of the Hyeres comic festival. He cooperated with the publisher Michel Deligne on the review Le Journal Illustré (1982-83) and on the albums 'Algérie Française!' For Magic Strip, Mérézette made 'Hank Wetter - Les Carnassiers' with Philippe Illien in 1988. In 1992, he made an adaptation of B. Clavel's work 'Harricana - Le Royaume du Nord' with De La Royère for Lefrancq Editeur.

He also contributed to an official collective homage 'Rocky Luke' (Goupil, 1983), paying tribute to Morris' 'Lucky Luke'.
