Toni Pagot is one of the creators of the famous 'Calimero' animated series. He began his career together with his older brother Nino, working in comics, animation and advertising art. After the War, the two brothers made 'I Fratelli Dinamite', one of the first Italian animation films. They also collaborated on several television series, mainly for Hanna-Barbera. In 1963, they created 'Calimero', one of the most famous Italian cartoon characters.
In the 1970s, Toni Pagot returned to comics and began a collaboration with Il Corriere dei Ragazzi and Il Giornalino. For the latter, he created 'Micromino', which he continued until the 1990s. With Gino Gavioli, he additionally made adaptations of the 16th century Spanish novella 'The Life of Lazarillo de Tormes' (1995-1996) and the folk tale 'Ali Baba and the Forty Thieves' (1996).
Among the famous artists who once worked for the Pagot animation studios have been Giovanni Battista Carpi, Osvaldo Cavandoli, Leone Cimpelin, Massimo De Vita, Enzo Facciolo, Daniele Fagarazzi, Antonio Lupatelli and Carlo Peroni.
