He created the long-running comic series 'Marion Duval' for the periodical Astrapi in 1983. Bayard has published the series in book format since that same year. In 1998 Pommaux handed over the artwork of 'Marion Duval' to Philippe Masson, but he still remained as the scenarist of this series. Louis Alloing became the artist in 2006, and by 2011, Pommaux also retired from writing the comic. In the 1990s he also made the historical comic 'Angelot du Lac' for Astrapi. It was published in books by Bayard between 1991 and 1998. Since the early 2000s, Pommaux makes the strip 'Théo Toutou' for J'Aime Lire. Three schools in France have been named after him.
