Pierpaolo Rovero was born in Turin, where he also lives and works as an artist and scriptwriter. Upon completing his science studies in 1993, he attended the Disney Academy in Milan. He had his first steps in the comics field under the guidance of Giorgio Cavazzano. Rovero, who had already done some illustration work, cooperated with the Disney magazine Topolino between 1996 and 2005, and also drew stories with Pixar's 'Monsters, Inc'. In addition, he drew 'Bandeko Africa' for COE-CELIM in Milan in 2001.

In 2002, he illustrated 'Willy e Peo' for Scienza, and since 2007, he has also worked extensively for the French market. 'Gate 22', the graphic novel he created with Stefano Frassetto was published by Pavesio in 2007, while he created two books for the detective comic 'Malone' with Michel Rio for Casterman that same year. Rovero has worked with the French writer Jean-Claude Bartoll on thrillers like 'Terroriste' (Éditions Glénat, since 2008) and 'Mossad - opérations spéciales' (Éditions Jungle, since 2011). He is also a teacher in comic art, especially during humanitarian missions to Eritrea, Cameroon and Patagonia.
