Henry Steimer was an early French comic artist. He appeared in numerous publications of the 1910s and 1920s, such as L'Oeil de la Police, Le Jeudi de la Jeunesse and Le Cri-Cri. He is best known for his realistic work, but he has also drawn humorous comics.
'Colette l'Aventureuse' (Lili, 1920).
In Lili, he drew continuing stories like 'Il Était Trois Petites Filles' (1919) and 'Colette l'Aventureuse' (1920). For his humorous output, he used the pseudonym Samivel. Note that this is not the same Samivel as the famous mountain artist/cartoonist.
Samivel was an influence on Tomi Ungerer.
