'Up and coming' is definetly a term that aplies too Dutch artist Michiel Budel. With his beautiful pencil drawings in pastel tones, he is quickly becoming an underground artist to be reckoned with.
So here it is: Michiel Budel's virtuele expo followed by a signing session on the seventh of june.
Michiel Budel studied Illustration and Theater Design at the Minerva Art Academy in Groningen. He subsequently held several office jobs and studied to become an art teacher. He has published his drawings and comics on his website www.slechtemeisjes.nl since 2011, and he has also promoted his short comic stories on Twitter and Facebook. The small independent New York-based publisher Secret Acres has collected Budel's comics in book format in 2012 under the title 'Wayward Girls'.
Michiel Budel draws his inspiration from the work of Joost Roelofsz and film audio commentaries by directors and film connaisseurs.
Now for the first time Michiel Budel's artwork is for sale exclusively at Lambiek and we are mighty proud of it. Welcome to the weird world of Wayward Girls. (All depicted girls are 18 years or older and only few of them sympathize with nazi ideology)
