Six Chix, by Isabella Bannerman

Isabella Bannerman was born in Buffalo, New York, and spent her formative cartooning years in New York City. Her first work was published in the San Francisco Bay Guardian in 1987. Her work has appeared nationwide in magazines such as The Funny Times, The New York Times, World War 3 Illustrated and Girl Talk. A book of her cartoons, 'Pacifists in Bomber Jackets' was published in 1998.

Since January 2000, she is one of the original six female comic artists who make the newspaper strip 'Six Chix'. Each woman draws the strip on a different day (Isabella on Monday) and they alternate on Sundays. The other original members are Margaret Shulock, Kathryn LeMieux, Rina Piccolo, Ann Telnaes and Stephanie Piro. Bannerman has also worked as an animator on 'Doug'. Isabella Bannerman now lives with her husband and two sons in Westchester County, N.Y.
