Arne Bellstorf was born in 1979 in Dannenberg (Elbe). He moved to Hamburg in 2000, where he studied Illustration and Communication Design under Anke Feuchtenberger and Atak. He has been self-publishing comics since 2002, and he joined the team of magazine Orang in the same year. In 2004, he founded the Kiki Post Verlag with Sascha Hommer. He graduated in 2005 with the comic project 'Acht, neun, zehn', published by Reproduct in Berlin.

His work has additionally appeared in Strapazin, Moga Mobo, Panik Elektro, Comixene, Flitter and Süddeutsche Zeitung Magazin. From June 2006 to 2014, he had a monthly comic page in the Berliner newspaper Der Tagesspiegel. Since 2009 he contributes cartoons to Die Zeit Geschichte. 'Baby's in Black', his book about Hamburg's young existentialists, the early Beatles and German subculture in the 1960s, was released in October 2010 in Germany and has since been published in 12 countries.
Bellstorf drew a homage to Robert Crumb in the collective book 'A Tribute to Robert Crumb' (Éditions 52, 2013).
