Ron Broadley was an Australian illustrator and commercial artist. He was mainly known for writing and illustrating many children's works including activity, puzzle and joke books such as 'The Puzzle Picture Book' (1943), 'The Moving Picture Book' (1943), 'Quizzo' (1943), 'Nu Zoo' (1943), 'Have you Played Jumblezoo' (1943), and 'ABC Story-Teller' (1943). He is also the illustrator of the cartoon books 'Ron Broadley's Mirth' and 'Ron Broadley's Giggles'.
Like many other cartoonists of his generation, he was involved in the Australian comic book industry of the 1940s. His art appeared in several titles with action and adventure stories (mostly one-shots), that were published by Frank Johnson Publications. These include Wizard Comics, Gem Comics, Adventure Comics, True Pirate Comics and Bonzer. Among his recurring features were 'Dabs', 'Miss Information' and 'Shadowman'. Other contributing artists were Unk White, Les Dixon, Norm Rice, Carl Lyon, Frank Jessup, Emile Mercier, Moira Bertram, Peter Chapman and Rhys Williams.
