Cynthia Campanario Pineda - also referred to as Cynthia C. Pineda - is a Spanish artist of Disney comics, who has worked for the Danish publisher Egmont since 2017.
Life and career
Born in 1995, Cynthia Campanario Pineda attended the EASD Pau Gargallo art school in Badalona, Catalonia, where she worked on several socially conscious projects in different art types (sculpting, painting, drawing). She lives and works in the coastal town of San Adrián de Besós, north of Barcelona.
Since the mid-2010s, Cynthia Pineda is part of a new wave of freelance Spanish Disney artists working for the Danish publisher/production house Egmont, which has also included Diego Bernardo Álvarez, Joan Crexells Aparicio, Xavi Martin Sancho, Sebastián Puñales and Lourdes Rueda Sala. Recruited by Egmont's art director Fernando Guëll, she has drawn several one-page gags and short stories starring mainly 'Donald Duck', 'Huey, Dewey and Louie' and 'Magica De Spell', the first being published in Scandinavia in July 2017.
Over the years, she has become a more prominent artist of longer adventure stories, working in the dynamic tradition of the legendary Disney artist Daniel Branca. Since 2023, Pineda also works for the publisher of Disney comics in the Netherlands, DPG Media, where she is also regularly assigned to some of the more epic adventure stories.
