Diederick van Kleef is active as a fine artist and author of art books since 1977. Born in Rotterdam, he studied at the Art Academies of Arnhem and Maastricht before settling in Amsterdam. Besides making drawings and paintings, he also runs the bookshop Sporadisch Antiquarisch near the Sarphatipark in Amsterdam. In the 1970s he was one of the contributor to In De Gekleurde Omelet, a quarterly comic magazine edited by future Studio Arnhem founders René Meulenbroek and Hanco Kolk.
