Gustavo Trigo is the artist of the comic series 'La Guerra de los Antartes', written by Hector German Oesterheld for leftwing Noticias newspaper in the 1970s. The series continued the theme of Oesterheld's successful 'El Eternauta' series, about an alien invasion. However, 'La Guerra de los Antartes' had references to the political reality of Argentina. The comic ended when the government forbid further publication of magazine Noticias. Trigo has also illustrated episodes of Oesterheld's 'Sgt Kirk' series. Later in his career, Trigo started working for the Italian market, where he illustrated such series as 'Dylan Dog', 'Nick Raider' and 'Julia'.
