Luk by Jos Vanspauwen

Jos Vanspauwen was born in Genk and attended the Academy of Fine Arts in Hasselt. His first professional work was the album 'Het web van hij', that he made with Noël Slangen. He found employment with Studio Vandersteen as one of the artists of German 'Bessy' stories in the 1980s. When the series was cancelled, he contributed to several local weekend papers. He made cartoons for Jet Magazine, and the biweekly gag strip 'Luk' voor De Vinstermik. In the 1990s he worked on 'The Smurfs' at Studio Peyo.

Vanspauwen is the inker of 'Stam & Pilou' stories for Studio Max since 2004. He had additionally worked with Ivan Claeys on a comic story about 'Het Borrelmanneke' of Hasselt. Vanspauwen also works as an inker for Dirk Stallaert (on 'Mieleke Melleke Mol') and Marc Verhaegen (on 'Michiel de Ruyter' and 'Senne en Sanne').
